Herbert Fromm is among the most famous, accomplished, and prolific composers of music for the American Synaoguge. Fromm was part of a group of Austro-German composers (including Isadore Freed and Frederick Pickett) that fled Europe in the 1930's with the Third Reich's rise to power. Like Freed and Pickett, Fromm made a home in New York and served for many years as an organist and music director for Temple Beth Zion in Buffalo.
