This text is based on a prayer from the end of the weekday Amidah (the heart of the prayer service traditionally recited silently by congregants). This work is part of a larger through-composed service by Arthur Yolkoff called "Shirat Atideinu" (The Song of Our Future), originally written for youth chorus. traditionally, the original text comes after a number of personal and communal petitions addressed to God, and thus it asks God to accept those prayers with love.<
