This psalm describes a stirring vision of Jerusalem rebuilt, and charges the listeners to pray for the peace of the city. It recalls, almost nostalgically, the days when tribes of Israelites went up to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (modern day site of the Dome of the Rock) to make the prescribed offerings to God.
